Useful options
| Option | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Match case | Only replaces text with exactly the same capitals | Replaces “Apple” but not “apple” |
| Whole words only | Ignores matches inside longer words | “art” doesn’t change “start” |
| Keep capitalization | Copies the capitals of the found text | Order → Purchase, ORDER → PURCHASE |
| \n and \t | Represent a line break and a tab | Replace “, ” with “\n” to put each item on its own line |
Using regular expressions
Turn on regular expressions to match patterns instead of fixed text. A few handy examples:
\s+→ a single space: collapses multiple spaces and line breaks.(\d{2})/(\d{2})/(\d{4})→$3-$2-$1: turns 31/12/2026 into 2026-12-31.^→-: adds a dash at the start of every line (^ and $ match each line).<[^>]+>→ nothing: strips simple HTML tags.
Rules are applied from top to bottom, and each rule works on the result of the previous one. Test complex patterns first in the Regex Tester, and compare the before and after with the Text Diff Checker.
