Why convert JPG images to PDF?
PDF is the universal format for documents. It looks the same on every computer, phone and printer, and most official websites ask for PDFs when you upload paperwork. Converting images to PDF is the easiest way to turn photos of documents into a proper file that you can email, upload or print.
Typical uses include scanning receipts for expense reports, combining photos of a multi-page contract into one file, submitting ID documents and certificates to online applications, sending homework or handwritten notes to a teacher, and creating a simple photo album or portfolio.
How to get the best results
- Photograph documents in good light, with the page flat and filling most of the frame. Avoid shadows across the text.
- Use A4 or Letter if the PDF will be printed or submitted to an organization. Use “Same as image” for photo collections where you don’t want any white border.
- Use automatic orientation so wide images get landscape pages and tall images get portrait pages.
- Lower the quality to around 70–80% if the file must stay under an upload limit. Text remains readable while the PDF becomes much smaller.
Page sizes explained
| Option | Dimensions | Used in |
|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210 × 297 mm | Most of the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia |
| US Letter | 8.5 × 11 in (216 × 279 mm) | United States, Canada and parts of Latin America |
| Same as image | Matches each picture | Photo albums, slides and on-screen viewing |
Your files stay private
Most online converters upload your images to a remote server, process them there and send the PDF back. This tool builds the PDF directly in your web browser instead. Your images are never transmitted anywhere, which makes the conversion faster and keeps sensitive documents such as passports, bank statements and medical records completely private.
