Two ways to remove a background
Not every photo is the same, so the tool offers two detection methods. You can switch between them at any time and compare the results.

Tips for clean edges
- Use a photo where the subject clearly stands out from the background in color and brightness.
- Increase Edge softness slightly for hair and fur, and lower it for hard-edged products and logos.
- Zoom in using your browser (Ctrl and +) to brush small details precisely.
- Click Show original to compare and spot anything missing.
PNG or JPG?
Choose PNG if you want a transparent background; JPG cannot store transparency. Choose JPG when you have picked a solid background color and want a smaller file for uploads. You can convert later with PNG to JPG or shrink the file with Image Compressor.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Unlike most background removers, this tool processes your photo entirely on your device. The AI model (about 250 KB) is downloaded to your browser the first time you use it, and your image never leaves your computer or phone.
