How to use the SVG to PNG tool
- Add your SVGsDrop SVG files onto the box, or switch to “Paste SVG code” and paste the markup.
- Choose the sizeScale the original size (2× is ideal for retina screens) or set an exact width or height in pixels.
- Pick the formatPNG keeps transparency. Choose JPG or WebP for smaller files, with an optional background color.
- DownloadDownload each image, or all of them as one ZIP. Change the settings and convert again at any time.
Features
- Rendered at full resolutionThe vector is drawn directly at the target size, so edges stay crisp instead of being stretched from a small bitmap.
- Smart sizingReads width, height and viewBox, including units like pt, mm and in, to get the proportions right.
- Transparency preservedPNG and WebP keep transparent areas. Add a fill color when you need a solid background.
- Paste code directlyConvert SVG markup copied from a design tool, icon library or code editor.
- PrivateRendering happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
SVG vs PNG
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) describes shapes with math, so it can be scaled to any size without losing quality. It’s perfect for logos, icons and illustrations on websites. PNG is a raster format made of a fixed grid of pixels. Many places don’t accept SVG: social media, email signatures, Microsoft Office, some CMS image fields and most messaging apps. Converting to PNG makes your graphic work everywhere.
Choosing the right size
| Use | Suggested size |
|---|---|
| Website icon or button (displayed at 24–48 px) | 2× the display size, e.g. 96 px |
| Logo on a website header | 2× the display width, e.g. 400–600 px |
| Social media profile picture | At least 400 × 400 px |
| Presentations and documents | 1500–2000 px wide |
| Print (300 DPI) | Width in inches × 300, e.g. 3 inches = 900 px |
Because SVG is vector, a bigger PNG never looks blurry. It just makes the file larger. The tool limits output to 8192 pixels per side to keep your browser responsive.
PNG, JPG or WebP?
- PNG: lossless with transparency. The best choice for logos, icons and graphics with sharp edges.
- JPG: no transparency (a background color is added). Only useful when a system requires JPG.
- WebP: smaller than PNG with transparency support. Great for modern websites.
Troubleshooting
- Text looks different: SVGs that use web fonts rely on fonts installed on your device. Convert text to outlines (paths) in your design tool before exporting the SVG.
- Images inside the SVG are missing: linked images (href to another file) can’t be loaded. Embed them in the SVG instead.
- Nothing appears: make sure the SVG has a viewBox or a width and height, and that it opens correctly in your browser.
