What works best

PDF to Excel works with PDFs that contain real text, which is almost every PDF downloaded from a bank, accounting system, online store or government portal. The tool reads where each piece of text sits on the page and rebuilds the rows and columns.

DocumentTypical result
Bank and card statementsVery good: date, description, debit, credit and balance columns
Invoices and purchase ordersGood: the item table is clean; headers and addresses land above it
Price lists, mark sheets, reportsVery good for simple grids
Scanned or photographed pagesNo text to extract; use OCR first

Cleaning up the spreadsheet

  • Long descriptions that wrap onto a second line in the PDF appear as an extra row; merge them with a quick copy-paste.
  • Delete repeated header rows from page 2 onwards, or use “One sheet per page” and copy only the rows you need.
  • Dates stay as text so they are never misread (for example 03/04 as March or April). Use Excel’s Text to Columns or DATEVALUE to convert them in your preferred format.
  • Turn off “Convert numbers” if you want account numbers or codes with leading zeros kept exactly as text.

Private by design

Many online PDF to Excel converters upload your file to their servers. Bank statements and invoices contain sensitive data, so this tool does all the work inside your browser: the PDF is never uploaded, and the spreadsheet is created on your device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PDF table to Excel?
Drop the PDF here, click “Convert to Excel” and open the downloaded XLSX in Excel or Google Sheets.
Is my bank statement uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device.
Why are some rows split?
Text that wraps onto two lines in the PDF becomes two rows. Merge them in Excel.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No, scans contain pictures, not text. Use PDF to JPG and Image to Text (OCR) first.
My statement is password-protected. What now?
Remove the password with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), then convert.
