- Cut a highlight from a long match, lecture or livestream to share on WhatsApp, Instagram or YouTube Shorts.
- Fit length limits such as a 30-second status, a 60-second Reel or a 2-minute upload limit on a form.
- Share only what matters from a screen recording or video call, without the private parts before and after.
How trimming works in your browser
Most online video cutters upload your file to a server, process it there and make you download it again. This tool works differently: your browser plays the selected part of the video and records it into a new file, all on your device. That keeps your video private and avoids slow uploads, but it also means processing runs in real time, so a 40-second clip takes about 40 seconds. Keep the tab open and visible until it finishes.
The output is encoded fresh, so you can choose the format: MP4 (H.264) is the most compatible and is offered by Chrome, Edge and Safari; WebM is offered by Chrome, Edge and Firefox and plays in all modern browsers, Android and VLC.
Tips
| Goal | What to do |
|---|---|
| Find the exact frame | Pause the player and use the arrow keys or drag the progress bar slowly, then click “Start = current frame”. |
| Make the file smaller too | Trim first, then run the clip through Compress Video. |
| Fix a sideways clip | Use Rotate Video after trimming. |
| Share as an animation | Turn a short clip into a GIF with Video to GIF. |
| Keep only the audio | Extract the sound with Video to MP3 and cut it with Audio Cutter. |
Which videos are supported?
Any video your browser can play: MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8, VP9, AV1) and most MOV files from phones. Some formats, such as older AVI or WMV files and certain HEVC (H.265) videos, can’t be played by every browser; if your file doesn’t load, try Chrome or Edge, or convert it on your device first.
