Tips for a clean recording
- Get close, but not too close: about a hand’s width from the microphone gives a clear, full sound.
- Watch the level meter: aim for the green-yellow area. If it hits red, move back or speak softer.
- Use a headset or USB mic for noticeably better quality than a laptop’s built-in microphone.
- Choose a quiet, soft room: curtains, carpets and furniture reduce echo.
- For music, untick “Noise & echo reduction”: it’s designed for speech and can make instruments sound unnatural.
